HERE IS SOME UPDATES ON SOME OF THE HORSES THAT FOUND A HOME

My name is Sherry and I wanted to write to you to thank you and the staff for finding me the right horse.(Lexi) about 9 months ago....
She plowed reigned when I got her and seemed lazy/ but her intellect and willingness to please was exactly as you said it was. We now have her neck reigning and trail riding and doing parades and we are on the front line of the ladies drill team. She is my heart. She had never had a fan in her stall or auto water filler so she had to get use to her new wealth. She now feels her worth and her personal pay off for always being kind even when the world around her may not have been. God Bless You for the work you do for these wonderful animals.Lazy in her case was just a matter of understanding what was being asked of her. I had never rode before so she learned as I did/ in the paddock with me and her working until we got it. There is no right or wrong way. Only communication and then break threw's!!! I used legs and oral cues/ rewards and lots of ground work. She adores me and anticipates my needs. When I lean forward and give her>her head /lazy is no issue.she knows her pattern and never misses a lick. She is the barn favorite evMy name is Sherry and I wanted to write to you to thank you and the staff for finding me the right horse.(Lexi) about 9 months ago....

Hello Lisa this is Mrs. Sumo and we just got Lexis home the other day. Wanted to check back with you to say we are more than pleased with her and I think you did a perfect match up of rider and horse. She went out with the group ride the same day and was a dream with the kids. she put her nose down turn into a pack horse just like promised. later that night she became a kiss magnet for the small kids to love on. We feel sure she would hurt herself before anyone. She is a real thinker too/You can see that in her eyes. We thank you for allowing us to have a safe horse for the kids. She is in a wonderful stables with the care and dignity deserving such a kind little soul. She isn't the biggest horse in the barn but not even the biggest horses have as much heart.
Mrs. Zumo

Hi Lisa, how are you? I hope you are doing well. Happy Easter to you!
I wanted to send you a few pics of G-Money.

This is me and him jumping not too long ago. Turns out he's darn good at it.

This was the girl who owned him before me, he was a pro jumper back then. She told me he hated her, which is why she got ride of him. And to this very day, I am the ONLY one who can ride him. He doesn't allow anyone else to ride him, he just stands there with his ears back, head held high, and he looks like he is almost daring you to kick him. lol. But me, he'll do anything I ask of him. He was really a Blessing for me.

This was me last summer standing up on him. He never moved an inch.

This was just the other day while I was lunging him. He does really well at it. He is now voice command in both lunging and riding. he even knows the word whoa!

This was him last summer, he's a lot more muscled this year.

He's a great trail horse too. Loads of fun. :)

This was me riding him with a lead rope around his neck. He seems to like riding that way better than a hackamore.

He goes off of leg pressure too.

This was us the other day.

Okay girly, I'll let you go, I just wanted to stop in and wish you a Happy Easter and show you a few pics of him. I hope you have a good day!
-Briana

Oh, do you think you'll be needing any help this summer with your horses? If so, I might be willing to come out and work. I've learned a lot since you saw me last, not to mention I don't run horses 24/7 like I used to, lol.

Hi,

Just thought I would say hello.  My son bought a horse from you guys last July named Casper. He is a fleabitten gray arab/quarter cross we think, remember him?  He was skin and bones and I was a little embarresed to bring him back to my stable.  Everyone there loves him though and he now looks beautiful.  We get lots of compliments on him and all he needs is a horn on his head to look like a unicorn!!   He is turning into a great sweet horse.  He is no longer afraid of bathes or fly spray and is nice and fat.  He has gone on several trail rides at 7IL ranch in Catspring and gets along great with his pasture mates on his 50 acre pasture.  He whinneys at everyone to say hello and loves his trailrides, he is less fond of arena work but so are we!!

Hello Lisa,
We purchases a black/white 6year old paint gelding from you last year for my daughter who rides for Katy Cowgirls. His name is Buckshot. What you said about him was right on! He is an excellent horse, seriously one of the best I’ve ever been around. He has an absolutely perfect temperament and is always looking to please so I feel completely safe getting your advice:

Hello Lisa!  Hope you and your family had a nice Christmas and hope all the best for you all this coming new year!  I just finished looking at your website again....I look a couple of times a week.   It is such a wonderful thing that you all are doing...giving these wonderful horses a second chance at life!  Elizabeth's horse, Lucky, is doing wonderful.  Johnie and I are amazed at the change in Elizabeth since Lucky came home to live with us!  She rides almost every day now....the same child that was terrified to even sit on a horse after that terrible riding accident that she had, is now the same child that rides for hours with Lucky.....bareback, usually!  Lucky greets her with a whinny or a neigh whenever she goes outside, and you can see the love and respect that they have for each other is mutual.  It's almost as if Lucky can sense that Elizabeth needs special care.  Her confidence is soaring!  He has been the BEST therapy for her....Lucky is always there for her, and he seems to comfort her more than we can sometimes.  She talks to him, and yesterday, she was laying on his back, and he would just stand there and listen to her, and every once in a while, he would turn around and look at her, as if to check and make sure she was still okay.  If you recall, when he first came to our house, he had a cut on the back of his right, front foot, just above the hoof line.  We made sure not to over-work him and didn't ask him to do anything more than walk, until his foot healed.  It has since completely healed, and he runs on it on his own, in the pasture, without any evidence of ever being injured.  It appears that he has made a complete recovery.  Well, I just wanted to give you another update on the Elizabeth/Lucky saga.  When any of our friends talk about buying a horse, we tell every one of them to check out your website, and if they buy a horse from you, they won't be disappointed!  I hope God continues to bless you and your family, and helps you in every way with your horse rescues!  If you should ever need a referral for any future customers, please feel free to use me as a reference.  I can usually be reached on my cell phone at (409)670-7383.  I would be more than happy to provide a glowing testimonial about the horse that is now a much-loved member of our family!  His name may be Lucky, be WE are the lucky ones to be part of his family now!  Again, I thank all of you for taking the time to match Elizabeth with the right horse and for rescuing all of those beautiful horses!
God bless you all!
Julie and Johnie

Hi Lisa, this is Carla, we bought Shameless and Skipper Joe from you on Saturday.  I just wanted to let you know that they are settling in great!  They did wonderful on the trip home and Shameless unloaded from the trailer perfectly.  Skipper Joe was a little scared so it took some coaxing to get him out of the trailer.  Shamless is a little stand offish right now but I think with time she will come around.  Skipper Joe follows everybody around like a little puppy.  He is so sweet and you can't get rid of him!!  Anyway I just wanted to let you know how they were doing and I will try and email you some pictures of them soon!!  I hope you have a very happy New Years!!

Good afternoon Lisa.  I just wanted to give you an update on Teddy.  I took a picture of Teddy on the first day we brought him home which was two Saturdays ago and picture is titles Teddy Day 1.  Then I took a picture of him one week later because we’re doing a journal on him to keep up with his progress.  And I just wanted to share the pictures of him with you.  Doesn’t he look great?   There’s a picture of him eating and one of him by the gate looking for Shelby.  Then there’s one of Shelby looking in his direction.  You can tell which one is Shelby because she’s so fat.  And then there’s a picture of him running in the pasture just having a grand ol’ time and then one of him and Shelby grazing in the pasture together.  (Remember that Teddy is the one with two white stockings, Shelby doesn’t have stockings or socks.)

Corey brushes his coat every other day and walks him with his lead rope.  Teddy just stays wherever Corey is.  They’re like peas and carrots.  Shelby didn’t take to Teddy right away but after about 5 or 6 days, they seem to be socializing easier.  I think she was a little jealous.  She would run him off but he seems to be feeling a little more confident in the past 3 days and wants to be where Shelby is.  By the way, Corey changed his name to Cowboy.  I hope you don’t mind.  I loved the name Teddy, but Corey didn’t like it as much as I did and went and changed it.  I was ok with that since he’s Corey’s horse.

Cowboy seems to be responding to his new name.  But he comes to you even if you don’t call him.  He’s such a good horse.  And you are so right; not a mean bone in his body.  We love him a lot.  Well, hope you’re all doing fine.  Talk to you later.

Hope you get the pictures.  Corey & Lila

Hi, I purchased a 14 year old gelding named Rusty a little over a month ago.

I wanted to let you know that Rusty is doing great.  He’s already spoiled by my six year old granddaughter giving him treats!!!

We moved our four horses to a stable only 8 miles from our home in Van Alstyne for the winter months & until we can get our barn built.

Roy Fisher, the man who runs the stables, came from Tennessee and is very knowledgeable about horses.

Roy gives the horses shots, worms them, farriers, and floats their teeth.   All around kind of horseman which is been great!

If you remember, I purchased Rusty for myself and then my son, Blake, came to help me bring him home.

Well, after my son spent some time with Rusty, he decided he liked him and wanted to trade the new mare we purchased for him.

So, I swapped out Rusty for Bailey.   I’m sure I’ll be riding both Rusty and Bailey!   I feel they are both my horses….

You guys have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Lori
